VOR & HSI Trainer

This app collects no data about you and makes no network connections of its own.

What this app stores

On your device only: one small record of how you have scored on each kind of question — which radial you are on, which way to turn, what the needle and flag will do — so the drill can bring back the ones you keep missing. Nothing else. There is no name, no identifier and no record of individual questions. It never leaves the device, Clear all progress on the Progress screen erases it, and deleting the app removes it.

What this app does not do

Links to other apps

The More from AutoPilot screen lists the other apps in this family and links to the App Store and to flywithautopilot.com. Tapping one hands that link to your browser or to the App Store app. The app itself sends nothing: no identifier, no progress, nothing about you travels with that link. Once the page is open, that site's privacy practices apply rather than this one's.

Support

Questions, bugs, or a scenario you think the app has wrong: admin@flywithautopilot.com. Say which screen and which scenario, and include your device and iOS version.

VOR & HSI Trainer teaches how the CDI, the HSI and the TO/FROM flag behave — identifying the radial you are on, intercepting a new one, and flying a DME arc. It is a ground-training aid: the stations, radials and distances in it are practice material and are not navigation data. Navigate from current charts and your own avionics.
